Lovemore Masiane

Operations and Clinical Executive at Our Roots CIC

My background is teaching: taught in many Schools and  also held various  positions of responsibility such as Senior Master, Head of Department and Deputy Head.

I am driven by an ethical approach to life and imparting this to the next generations. My teaching Career started in 1990 to 2001, I thoroughly enjoyed teaching and developing some of the best Minds. I learnt a lot from those that I was teaching too, this taught me to open  my mind to something new every day.

My belief is that humans are adaptable and can always learn and remodel themselves. In 2001 I moved to the UK, my first Job was working as Postman. I surprised myself by how well I adjusted to this new way of life, it was a humbling experience as it was different from everything that I knew about life.

In 2003 I went on to train as a mental Health Nurse, on completing the training in 2006 I had an inclination of what I wanted in this new found life, I also learnt that I don’t have to be the brightest kid on the block to overcome.

In 2008 I applied for a Counselling and Psychotherapy Course and met some humble but brilliant people. I soon branched off in 2009 and I was involved in the second cohort of Cognitive Behaviour therapists training within the IAPT Model.

Since Qualifying in 2010, I have been literally everywhere in England working as a CBT Therapist, gathering most there is to learn and I continue to learn.   I have also worked as a Clinical Supervisor, this brought me to Health Exchange and Our Roots three years ago.  I have also worked as a Clinical Lead for the Luton IAPT service.
